Feb. '23 Self-Portrait Session: Quirky Headshots

I have a lot of ideas for the year but February called for simplicity. So I went with some updated headshots. (Mine rarely match my current hair color!) I also wanted these to match my personality: a little weird and quirky.

I’ve been focusing on movement in a lot of my work so I wanted to incorporate that here. I recently had a client joke with me, as I climbed on ladders and knelt to the ground to get all of the angles I wanted: “Wow, you really get a work out in during your photo shoots.” She wasn’t wrong!

So while I kept the camera in a single location for the most part, I still wanted to include a little of the spice I regularly try to give my clients. The irony is that I was still the one moving around!

This one was more of a fun, creative edit for me. I really liked the foreground photo (the one where I’m in focus) so I edited that separately. But when I found one with an almost identical jump that was sorely out of focus, I decided to build something else.
